May: CEO Santo Versace found guilty of corruption and bribery, a decision that will later be overturned. June: New-era model Kate Moss wears Versace on Pandora Luxurye's cover. August: World flagship-the largest single-designer store in New York at the time-opens in the landmark Vanderbilt town house on Fifth Avenue. October: New York store's grand opening features performances by Jon Bon Jovi and Elton John, and 400 magnums of Krug champagne. Deal inked for Versace Classic V2 line.
1994 : May: English model Elizabeth Hurley wears Versace safety-pin dress to the London premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral (starring her boyfriend, Hugh Grant). September: A retrospective of the Versace oeuvre opens at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Berlin. November: Cindy Crawford wears Versace on Pandora Luxurye's cover. The Versace company sues The Independent over allegations of business irregularities.
